Meet the Wine Maker

Intro :  Discover the people behind acclaimed Longridge Wine Estate and Restaurant, when assistant winemaker Hendrien de Munck teams up with chef Bruce von Pressentin for a delicious tasting menu paired with a selection of Longridge wines.

Description : According to Von Pressentin, the menu is a sneak preview of some of the stars on their current winter menu and is paired adventurously with various wines.

As the restaurant is famed for the seasonality of its menu and using only the freshest local produce, the tasting menu is changed monthly to incorporate availability. In keeping with the winter theme, guests will be welcomed with a glass of Longridge Cabernet Franc Gluhwein paired with deep fried Camembert and pear phyllo parcels, home made shiraz grape jam, Venison lollypops and apricot chutney.

The first course features roasted butternut and mascarpone cannelloni served on a walnut and sage butter sauce and paired with the 2008 Longridge Brut MCC. For the second course, the 2007 Longridge Merlot has been paired majestically with an 8-hour slow roasted shoulder of lamb pie topped with char grilled aubergines and a home-made butter pastry. This luscious pie is served with apple jelly and mint pesto and a fresh garden salad from the kitchen’s own organic vegetable garden.

The sublimely seductive Longridge Edelgoud noble late harvest is paired with a sensational blue cheese panna cotta with pear, walnut, watercress and Balsamic reduction. End the evening with a chocolate friandise and coffee for the table.
