Le Riche Wines are crafted in the Jonkershoek Valley just outside Stellenbosch. The relatively small size of the estate allows winemaker Etienne Le Riche to personally follow every step of the process.
In 1996, after 20 years at Rustenberg Wine Estate, Etienne started making his own wine in a tastefully restored wine cellar on the farm Leef-op-Hoop (literally Living on Hope) in the Jonkershoek Valley. The first wine, Le Riche Cabernet Reserve 1997, was an immediate success, earning various accolades. These wines have an enthusiastic local support base and are also widely exported.
