Lunch might be over when the distant orange-pink mountains change hue, but that doesn't mean you have to leave.

Take a seat with magnificent vineyard and mountain views and drink in the splendour of picturesque Franschhoek valley. Sip a crisp grapy glassful and enjoy a delicious lunch. The Restaurant in the Vines can be booked for special functions and the separate dining room in the cellar is ideal for private groups. Every creation from the team of talented chefs is given extra zest by the striking splendour of the setting. Rickety Bridge is an enchanting Franschhoek wine estate that earns its place in the Cape's cuisine capital.

Directions from Cape Town on N1
Take the N1 to Paarl. Take EXIT 47, the Klapmuts exit, from the highway then turn right onto the R44. Go straight through the Klapmuts 4-way stop and turn left after a little shop on your left called Tahieras Superette. Travel until you meet a T-junction at Vrede and Lust wine estate, then turn right onto the R45. Travel on the R45 to Franschhoek, Rickety Bridge is 3km before the village on the right hand side, immediately after Basse Provence Guest House.

Directions from Cape Town Airport/N2
Follow the signs for N2 Somerset West. Take N2 highway towards Somerset West. Take highway exit for Baden Powell Road(R310towards Stellenbosch), turn left on to Baden Powell Road. Follow this road to a three way intersection(traffic light) and turn right onto Adam Tas Road towards Stellenbosch (an extension of the R310). At a T-junction turn left onto Adam Tas Road. Go through three sets of traffic lights and at the fourth traffic light turn right into Helshoogte Road. Follow Helshoogte Road all the way to a T-junction at Allee Bleue farm, turn right onto the R45 to Franschhoek. Follow this road until you see the Rickety Bridge sign on the right handside, turn right into our long driveway and follow the road all the way onto the property.
