Join the fun at Allesverloren this year with its hat-trick of activities at the estate’s three venues during the Riebeek Valley Olive Festival on Saturday and Sunday, May 5 and 6.

Taste wines from different wineries paired with delicious gourmet meals from a variety of food stalls and deli’s at the estate’s function and conference venue. Visitors can also browse through the offerings of the country market where fresh produce, olive oil, pesto, homemade breads, jams, biltong, various cheeses and ice cream will be for sale.

Order your favourite beverage from the bar in the nearby performance tent where live music will be performed by local artists such as Waldo Lotz, Jo Nichol and Leonard Lang. Cash and wine hampers are up for grabs for the funkiest festival hat so rummage through your cupboard! Sign up at the wineglass sales table at R10 per entry. Winners are announced in the performance tent on the Saturday at 17h00.

Stroll to the tasting centre for limited offers on elected Allesverloren wines including the 2010 Danie Backyard Blend, the Platter four-star 2008 Allesverloren Shiraz and the 2007 Allesverloren Touriga Naçional. Next door is the olive playground where kids can make the most of the jumping castle, outdoor apparatus and toys. For a cost of R5 per child, kids can play for half an hour under adult supervision. An on-site tuck shop is open all day.

The Pleasant Pheasant Restaurant’s à la carte menu is bound to satisfy any appetite. Guests can also catch up on the weekend’s rugby on the restaurant’s big screen. Here, too, there is a play park for the kids outside the restaurant.

Entry and parking on the estate is free, as is a shuttle service that will ferry visitors the 4 km between Allesverloren, Riebeek West and Riebeek Kasteel.

Festival trading hours:
Allesverloren FCV: 9h00 to 19h00 on Saturday and 9h00 to 17h00 on Sunday
Allesverloren tasting centre: Saturday from 9h00 to 17h00 and Sunday from 9h00 to 16h00
Pleasant Pheasant Restaurant: Open for breakfast till late on Saturday and serving breakfast and lunch on Sunday.
