Morgenster 2010 Morgenster 2010
Colour: Bright deep plum red. Vibrant, youthful appearance.
Nose: An explosion of fruit and perfume. There are blackcurrants and raspberry notes intermingled with rose petal and jasmine flavours. Underlying layers of cherry and violet are strengthened by more classical licorice, thyme, forest floor aromas.
Palate: Offerings of great opulence, balanced perfectly with a natural acidity that is the backbone to this age worthy wine. Once in the mouth, classical aromas spread, showing pencil shavings and earthy undertones but more prominent concentration of sweet cherry and blackcurrant. Vanilla, mocha and some oak hover in the background.

Lourens River Valley 2010 Lourens River Valley 2010
Colour: Opaque centre with lighter brick red edges, young and vibrant red..
Nose: Very fresh and vibrant flavor profile. Blackcurrent and cherry sweetness, with spicey clove, chive, anis and butter developments. Well integrated vanilla, cacao and caramel smoothes over into the palate.
Palate: Velvet entry, very plush and immediately filling. Sweeter dark berry fruits are very evident and contribute well to balance. Spicey sweet Cabernet Franc does well to pull the blend back into the classical category. Rounded silky tannins are already soft and velvety. Beautiful balance and great finesse round off a stunner of a vintage.


Keeping with the philosophy behind Lourens River Valley Kotzé focused on letting the fruit do the talking, making the wine a true reflection of the terroir and what can be achieved with it in any given vintage. It was a smaller than usual crop but excellent quality prevailed. For Morgenster, the 2010 vintage can be tipped as a winner.

Colour: Beautiful golden, with green hue.
Nose: Starting off ripe and fresh, with notes of apricot, pineapple and litchi. You will also soon discover hidden flavours of butter, caramel, and zippy citrus, quince and lime.
Palate: Very well poised, perfectly integrated oaking with balanced ripeness and minerality. Melt in your mouth acidity that has great staying power adds a well-crafted focus and length.

Nose: Upfront in style. Sangiovese is evident in the aromas of pomegranate and watermelon. Rich sweet spice suggests an alluring Tuscan adventure.
Palate: Balance is the name of this Italian masterpiece and Caruso does its namesake proud. Rich and elegant, having a soft, velvety feel but with enough focus and length. There is a wonderful freshness of berries and soft cinnamon spice leaving you anticipating the next luscious sip.

Colour: Deep ruby purple, with a beautiful youthful hue.
Nose: Some classical Cabernet traits are already evident in the lush cassis concentrated fruit and capsicum, with eucalyptus mintyness also playing a part.
Palate: A delicious example of young Cabernet. Rich red fruit flavours abound; black currants, cherries and plums. Undertones of warm spice and tobacco.
