South Africa
Lanzerac, home of the first bottled Pinotage in the world, 1961. This graceful estate has played host to untold Stellenbosch residents as well as visitors for more than 300 years. Lanzerac's recorded history began in 1692 when the Governor of the Cape Simon van der Stel granted a piece of land in the Jonkerhoek Valley to Isaac Schrijver.
Today this privately owned estate welcomes visitors back to experience the wines of Lanzerac in the relaxed tasting room. On offer is a selection of tastings including the very popular Hand selected Chocolate and Wine Pairing. Feeling peckish? Stop in and order a Cheese platter, made up out of the best of local produce.
