Steeped in tradition, Monis has the longest established range of fortified wines in the industry and enjoys an unsurpassed reputation for quality, to which the string of awards garnered over the years bears witness.
Monis was established in Paarl in 1906 by Italian Roberto Monis, a son of a prominent Tuscan winemaking and merchandising family. He soon became a prominent player in South African wine and his name has become synonymous with premier fortified wines.
Today the range of ports and sherries is made by Dirkie Christowitz, who is renowned for regularly winning double gold and gold medals on the annual Veritas show.
