Big-hearted with bold
varietal flavours, Place in the Sun wines are lively and refreshing,
food-friendly and pocket-friendly. The
very appealing Fair trade-accredited range has also won the respect of wine
critics, earning awards for quality and value. Recent accolades include gold
and silver medals at the International Wine & Spirit Competition and Decanter World Wine Awards.
Made to support community upliftment amongst farm workers, wines in the
range have also been amongst the first to earn the right to carry South
Africa's new Ethical Seal, a fully
traceable guarantee of fair labour practices.
Place in the Sun wines
are produced from grapes sourced from prime Devon Valley vineyards. Growers are paid a premium for their fruit,
directed towards social development of the wine farm workers, who decide on how
the funds are to be spent. Currently, premiums are funding early learning
projects; tuition and school uniforms at schools of choice amongst farm
workers; school and community sporting activities; and the creation of
vegetable gardens to improve nutrition amongst local communities.
