Wine.co.za visit to Middelvlei
The urban sprawl of Stellenbosch comes to an abrupt halt, in its south-western suburb of Onderpapegaai, when you enter the gates of Middelvlei. Suddenly, before you lies a beautiful vineyard-strewn amphitheatre overlooking the Bottelary Hills and the upper reaches of Devon Valley. This is the home of the Momberg family, who have been wine farmers since 1919. The maiden vintage of Middelvlei?s flagship red wine, Momberg 2004 was launched end of last year and the family was thrilled to get instant recognition by receiving a four and a half star Platter rating for their new eclectic red blend. As the Middelvlei wines mainly consist of single-varietal wines, the Momberg was made to add an extra dimension to the premium range. The wine is an unusual blend for a serious wine - a selection of ther best Pinotage, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot Middelvlei has to offer.

Conferences & Functions @ Middelvlei
We have a small conference venue that can accommodate up to 15 people. A full-day conference includes refreshments for tea/coffee breaks, a two-course lunch and standard conference equipment. We also cater for functions up to 80 people. Our Boerebraai menu is an option or a caterer can be arranged should you require another menu. We can do anything, from an informal braai to a sit-down gourmet dinner! Please contact us for more information.

Meridian Trade Show - 19th September 2011
Meridian has outdone themselves at this year's trade show on the 19th of September. The venue at Vaudeville in had a burlesque theme, with sexy dancers and acrobats performing throughout the evening.

Momberg Cottage
The cottage offers a bedroom with two three-quarter twin beds, en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower, fully equipped kitchenette and a spacious living room with oversized folding doors opening onto a shady verandah overlooking the swimming pool.

Our Cellar
Built in 1941, the Middelvlei cellar was extended in 1999 by the addition of a maturation facility for 900 small barrels. Although Tinnie shares his father?s firm belief in traditional winemaking methods, the cellar boasts a combination of both traditional equipment and new technology.
