The Stables Winery Festival with Villiera Wines
Once a year our Agent for Zimbabwe, The Stables Winery, holds a festival which needs to be seen to be believed. A group of South African winemakers, owners, marketers, viticulturists heads to Harare for 3 days of wine, food, education and lots of fun.

Villiera wines on the road in Germany
Photos taken during a road trip in Germany undertaken by Cathy Brewer of Villiera and Matthias Potzkai of H M Witt (Villiera's agent for Germany). Over 1000 KM travelled - some think selling and marketing wine is easy and lots of fun. Well, easy it definitely is not, but one meets some good people along the way. Which makes up for all the hours worked. Pounding those pavements, building relationships and selling enough wine to make the trip worthwhile is what it's all about.

Platter 2013 Awards at Vineyard Hotel
The annual 2013 Platter awards were held at the Vineyard hotel on 30th Oct 2012, with the Winery of the year going to Cape Chamonix, Superquaffer of the Year to Muratie for their Muratie Melck's Shiraz-Cab, White Wine to Paul Cluver for their Nobel Late Harvest 2011 and Red Wine to Mullineux Family Syrah 2010. Congrats to them and all the 5 Star winners..

Villiera Wine Connoisseurs will recapture their memories of their visit in Villiera Wine Estate when they visit KaiserbadMuehle in Westhofen. It is located in the WeinArtLand in Rheinhessen, the biggest wine region in Germany. KaiserbadMuehle, first mentioned in 1298, with its Cape Dutch styled architecture, it's beautiful garden and international art. This is a place where you can relax in a cosy apartment while enjoying a glass of Villiera Wine.

CWG Villiera 2012 Silent Auction Dinner
There is a strong fundraising element to the CWG Auction in the form of a silent auction. Funds raised through the Silent Auction are donated to the Nedbank CWG Development Trust. In 2011 Jeff Grier's item for the Silent Auction was a game drive in the Villiera Wildlife Sanctuary followed by a six course dinner for six people in Villiera's newly renovated tasting room. This event took place on the 14th April 2012. The food was prepared by chef Christophe Dehosse of the Joostenberg Bistro and the evening was hosted by the Grier family. Each course was paired with a different Cap Classique in the Villiera range, including a Grier Brut from the south of France.

Villiera's new label launched with designer driftwood furniture
Villiera likes to focus on the natural and sustainable way of living. Drift Furniture Showroom in Cape Town hosted a launch of their new and inspiring furniture by various young designers. The store in Orphan Street (between Loop & Bree) is open to the public Monday to Friday, initially from 13.00 to 17.00, from August to the end of November 2011. Environmental Awareness
Viticulturist Simon Grier has always been a keen supporter of maintaining environmentally friendly vineyard management practices. The farm has not sprayed insecticides for the past ten years and a flock of 1000 Peking ducks are responsible for some natural pest control. There is a strong focus on water conservation, recycling and a greening project (currently in progress), which entails the planting of 1000's of indigenous trees on the farm. This philosophy has led to a vibrant eco-system on the farm, including huge flocks of guinea fowl and pheasant as well as steenbok, Cape foxes, bat-eared fox, water mongoose, grey mongoose, porcupines, caracal and the threatened blue crane. These are all naturally occurring.

Villiera Wildlife Sanctuary
In conjunction with a neighbour (The Cape Garden Centre) we have set aside 220ha of land as the Villiera Wildlife Sanctuary
