Solms-Delta Oesfees 2012 video

Franschhoek Oesfees a sellout success... Five thousand Cape music enthusiasts joined top local artists including David Kramer, Chris Chameleon, Emo Adams, Theuns Jordaan and a host of home-grown musical talent at this year?s fifth annual Franschhoek Oesfees, which took place in association with the ATKV (Afrikaanse Taal en Kultuurvereniging), at the Solms-Delta wine estate on Saturday 24 March.

The sold-out event was an end-of-harvest celebration of Kaapsekos, wine, music and song, which paid tribute to all who toil year round in the vineyards and cellars. Close to 1 000 complimentary tickets were given to workers on the Franschhoek valley farms.

The Oesfees was conceived five years ago by lively academic and social reformer Mark Solms and philanthropist and music lover Richard Astor, as a performance extension of the Solms-Delta-based Music van de Caab project, which seeks to preserve and develop the diverse musical heritage of the rural Cape.
