Robertson Wine on the River - it's back!
01 October 2007  by Robertson Wine Valley
Last year’s inaugural Robertson Wine on the River proved to be a watershed event, with visitors from far and wide begging for more, so Robertson Wine on the River is returning to the banks of the Breede River.
The dates for this year’s Robertson Wine on the River are 19 to 21 October and the event will again be hosted in two huge marquees at Spes Bona and Goudmyn, adjoining riverside farms on the R317 between Robertson and Bonnievale. Visitors will be shuttled between the two venues, by ferry or on land. The Breede River is the lifeline sustaining the entire Robertson Wine Valley, and therefore is the appropriate focal point of this experience.

Taste more than 300 wines from over 40 wineries while soaking up the rhythm of live jazz, ballads and blues and enjoy laid-back country hospitality at its best. While wine tasting is the order of the day, there will be delicious gastronomic delights to choose from, including creating your own picnic to enjoy on the banks of the river, browsing amongst the country food stalls, lazy lunching at the riverside restaurant, shopping your way through the Robertson Farmers’ Market, and much more.

Tutored tastings of bubbly, Chardonnay, cheese, chocolate, olives and olive oil will, no doubt, once again be very popular, as will the river cruises and arts and crafts from the Valley. And with plenty of supervised children’s activities available, Robertson Wine on the River promises to be a truly festive family affair.

With wines being sold on site at cellar door prices, Robertson Wine on the River offers the perfect opportunity to stock up on your favourite Robertson wines, renowned for their great value, from easy drinking to top of the range.

Due to popular demand, Robertson Wine on the River has been extended to include Sunday this year, so bring your friends and family and gather on the banks of the river for a weekend of fine wine, good food great music and complete relaxation whilst enjoying the spectacular scenery and warm country sunshine.
