Ernie Els Winemaker and Managing Director Louis Strydom was recently honoured by being inducted into the South African chapter of the Commanderie de Bordeaux, a prestigious association of over 5 000 wine lovers constituted into 79 chapters in 26 countries who each endeavour to promote the wines and quality values of Bordeaux.

Ernie Els Winemaker and Managing Director Louis Strydom was recently honoured by being inducted into the South African chapter of the Commanderie de Bordeaux, a prestigious association of over 5,000 wine lovers constituted into 79 chapters in 26 countries who each endeavour to promote the wines and quality values of Bordeaux. Through his preferred winemaking style Louis has over the years contributed immensely to producing premium red blends dominated by the Bordeaux variety of Cabernet Sauvignon.

2. Momentum builds at Ernie Els Wines with top ratings and awards
April proved to be a fruitful month for Ernie Els Wines on the awards and ratings front. Marketing Manager Lynton Kaiser (pictured) appeared at the launch of the Top 100 SA Wines 2012 Guide. Ernie Els Wines had no less than three wines included in this year’s prestigious list: Signature 2008, Proprietor’s Syrah 2010 and Big Easy 2010, the latter also bestowed with a ‘Best Value’ award. These awards are a tribute to the quality of wines being created by our viticultural and winemaking teams.

4. Come and join Ernie Els Wines golf events in the Garden Route
Ernie Els Wines is taking a trip down the Garden Route in May, so why not come and join us! We have two events at fantastic courses in George and Knysna. Ernie Els’ first ever golf course design project in South Africa, the spectacular Oubaai (pictured) will host the George event on 27 May, while the Knysna event takes place the day before at the picturesque Pezula Championship Golf Course overlooking the ocean.
