The ‘Give me a Chance’ Children’s foundation (GMAC) recently received a donation of R10 000 from Chas Everitt International as acknowledgement of the outstanding performance by two riders in the Joberg2C Mountain Bike Race. This donation was made over and above the very generous sponsorship that Chas Everitt International already provide to the foundation. The two riders, Delarey Brugman (founder of GMAC) and Jennie Stenerhag came fourth overall in the mixed category. What makes this achievement so special, is that they participated against professional riders in one of the toughest MTB races in the world.
The ‘Give Me a Chance’ Children’s Foundation was founded by Delarey and Sandie Brugman from Alluvia Specialist Winery and Guesthouse. It was created as a scholarship fund which would adopt promising students and provide financial, moral and extramural support to help them achieve their full potential.
The Foundation’s ultimate vision is to give promising children an opportunity in life that has proven their courage way above the challenges of poverty and have demonstrated some form of achievement against all odds. Through their efforts, the ‘Give Me a Chance’ Children’s Foundation seeks to promote an holistic solution to South Africa’s current plights of poverty and inequality.
