Villiera Wines in Stellenbosch has been run by the Grier family since 1983. It has developed into one of the largest private wineries in the country with a strong focus on quality production of still wines and Methode Cap Classique.

WHO WE ARE

Villiera, a family run winery, is situated in the Stellenbosch region, where the prevailing Mediterranean climate favours, the growing of vines. We are a pioneering quality wine company committed to preserving the environment and we have been rewarded with membership to the Biodiversity of Wine Initiative.

Our aim is to reflect the specific character of the "terroir", as well as the unique characteristics of each vintage in our wines. We also commit ourselves to ongoing education and upliftment of our staff and their families.

SERVICES/ PRODUCTS WE OFFER

Methode Cap Classique

Approximately 35% of the wine production at Villiera is currently focused on bottle-fermented sparkling wines. The current highly acclaimed range includes a non-vintage Tradition Brut and Tradition Rosé Brut, a Villiera Monro Brut and the additive free Villiera Brut Natural.

White Wines

Villiera’s white wines are renowned for their distinct fruitiness and ultimate drinkability, while simultaneously offering a great value proposition. There is a strong focus on Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc.

Red Wines

The Villiera reds capture the unique combination of Old World and New World styles and have gained international approval for their well-balanced intensity and understated elegance. The predominant varieties are Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, while a blend of the two has resulted in the multiple award-winning Monro label.

All these wines are available for tasting in our tasting room. For more information, visit www.villiera.com or phone Villiera Wines on +27.218652002.

It is a South African competition judged by local and international judges, recognising the top local wines and winemakers, and honouring excellence in the wine industry. The Best Sparkling Wine (Méthode Cap Classique) and winner of a Gold Medal and the Sparkling Wine Trophy: Villiera Woolworths Vintage Reserve Brut 2007

2007 was a great Cap Classique vintage resulting in the outstanding 2007 Woolworths Vintage Reserve Brut. This announcement comes one week after the Villiera Monro Brut 2007 won a Gold Medal and the Regional Trophy at the Decanter Wine Awards, showing consistency for the 2007 vintage.

The Villiera Woolworths Vintage Reserve Brut 2007 is dominated by Pinot Noir (85%) complemented by 15% Chardonnay and it was matured on the yeast for 4½ years.
