31 July 2012 by Wildekrans Wine Estate
It is with extreme pride that we at Wildekrans Wine Estate can now
announce that we walked away with the 'Top Wine Estate in SA' award
yesterday beating some of the very big names in the wine industry,
Neethlingshof, Groot Constantia and Kaapzicht!
Terroir has been the 'buzzword' among wine aficionados for several years now. The basic concept is to discover wines that best reflect the terroir in which they are produced. So this competition is not just focused on whether the wine is outstanding, because let's face it, you can't produce a fantastic 'terroir' wine without the strictest vineyard management and exceptional terroir.
All awards received:
1. National Chenin Blanc Trophy: Osiris Chenin Blanc Barrel Selection 2010
2. Regional Shiraz Trophy: Shiraz Barrel Select Reserve 2010
3. Regional Cape Blend Trophy: Cape Blend Barrel Select Reserve 2010
