| Taylors Wines introduces screw caps for sparkling |

| Australia-based winery Taylors Wines has introduced a new screw cap seal to replace corks on its sparkling wine.
|
|
The seal is similar to the screw caps that have superseded cork in most of Australia’s white and red table wine industry. The new seal can withstand the pressure of sparkling wine.
The move follows a small number of Australian producers who have topped specialist sparkling wines with beer bottle-like crown seals.
In 2004, when Taylors figured out problems with taint in cork that spoiled white wines, it replaced the entire range of its rieslings with screw caps.
