| Asara releases its timeless Shiraz 2009 |

Due to its continued popularity, Asara has released its 2009 - and
eighth - vintage of Shiraz. With the Shiraz 2009, this wine estate and
hotel situated in Stellenbosch has combined traditional and modern
methods of winemaking with the aim of creating a timeless wine that
transcends trends.

The combination of good rainfall during the winter and moderate temperatures during the ripening season allowed for optimum harvesting conditions, encouraging good flavour retention and soft, ripe tannins. Following fermentation, the wine is then transferred to French and American oak barrels for 18 months of maturation.
The deep intense ruby red and purple colours hint towards the full-bodied, smooth and complex flavours on the palate. Spicy blackberries, tobacco, plum, sweet white pepper and hints of biltong marry to produce an intense flavour profile with exceptional longevity.
Pair this aromatic Shiraz with a traditional Cape Malay Bobotie or a hearty serving of Oxtail stew.
The Shiraz 2009 is available from Asara Wine Estate for R95 per bottle or visit www.asarawine.co.za for more information.
