Association for Responsible Alcohol Use (ARA)
ARA was established by major manufacturers in 1989 with current members such as SAB, SALBA (Distell, Brandhouse, KWV, DGB etc) VinPro, Wine Cellars SA. We aim to reduce alcohol-related harm through combating the misuse and abuse of alcohol beverages, and promoting only their responsible use.
The ARA is registered as a non-profit organisation that self-regulates the marketing activities of member companies which include alcohol beverage manufacturers, distributors and retailers. We work in partnership with the government, public health bodies and other relevant stakeholders to combat the misuse and abuse of alcohol. We focus on educating consumers on the risks of alcohol misuse and abuse and on the responsible use of alcohol beverages.

Nederburg Auction 2010
A premier event on Cape Town's wine calendar, the Nederburg Auction serves to showcase the spectrum of award-winning wines and rare Cape finds created by the country's most talented winemakers.
Since its beginnings in 1975 with the 'famous five' founding participants; Delheim, Groot Constantia, Overgaauw, Simonsig and of course Nederburg, and an offering of just 15 wines, the Auction has evolved into an international event where major local and overseas wine buyers bid for a stringently selected range of the finest wines created by South Africa's most talented winemakers.
Last year marked the 35th year of this prestigious event, which coincided with the celebration of 350 years of South African winemaking, and overall income fetched just over R4 million.

Veritas Awards
The Veritas Awards give recognition to wines of exceptional quality and the distinctive Veritas symbol of excellence serves as an authoritative quality guideline for wine connoisseurs. The Veritas Awards, South Africas oldest and largest competition for market-ready wines, are presented annually by the South African National Wine Show Association (SANWSA).

Winemakers' Choice
Winemakers Choice Awards is a key competition in the South African wine industry. The judging procedures allow for fair and unbiased results, empowering winemakers and giving them the opportunity to judge their peers products.
The only award show judged exclusively by winemakers, representing all wine regions of South Africa, the Winemakers Choice Awards is truly unique. This is further portrayed by the diamond-shaped award sticker. Awards are given to approximately the top 10% of entrants, again setting us apart from other shows in South Africa.
This exclusive achievement identifies the best quality wines on show, putting them in a class of their own as the Winemakers Choice, identifying excellence in wine and rendering a service to our customers.
Winemakers Choice Awards has committed to supporting their Diamond Award winning producers, and as such are the only awards show that directly generate business for the winning farms.
