Exclusive treat at the Asara Pure Food Harvest Market!
20 March 2012  by Asara Wine Estate and Hotel
Asara Wine Estate and Hotel has something exciting up its sleeve for guests visiting the Pure Food Harvest Market on Public Holiday 21st March 2012.
As a special treat for those visiting the market, guests will be able to sample Asara’s own take on the elusive Beaujolais Nouveau, produced from Gamay grapes grown at the farm. The wine will be available exclusively from the farm, starting on the day of the market and until stock runs out. Asara recommends that guests enjoy it as soon as possible after purchase, to experience the fresh, fruity flavours to best advantage. This take on Beaujolais Nouveau is also the first certified 2012 red wine to be bottled in South Africa this year.

The market itself promises to be a great day out for the whole family. On offer will be seasonal fruits and vegetables, gourmet meats, artisanal cheeses, freshly baked breads, handmade macaroons and of course, Asara’s range of wines. There will be plenty of activities that will keep the young ones entertained, and live music for the young at heart. Bring along an empty canister and let your child collect their own fresh grape juice using an old fashioned hand press.

And the best bit? Entry to the market is free. Cheers!

Beaujolais Nouveau is a red wine produced from Gamay grapes in the Beaujolais region of France. The wine has an almost cult-like following and is France’s most popular vin de primeur. Fermented for just a few weeks, this popular wine is released as the clock strikes midnight on the third Thursday of November. According to law the wine is not allowed to be released before this time, so the famous "Beaujolais Nouveau Day" sees much festivity and heavy marketing as producers compete to get the first bottles around the globe as quickly as possible.
