Morgenhof Wine Estate
Morgenhof Wine Estate dates back to 1692 and many of the original buildings are still on the farm. In 1820, Morgenhof was one of the top 10 grape producers in the Stellenbosch area and over 190 years later, Morgenhof is still one of the top 10 producers.

March 8 2013 Events over the past few weeks
What an eventful couple of weeks we have had here at Morgenhof, hence the delay in writing.

Glamorous events and wine are synonomous, so it is quite fitting that we launched our events on the 22nd of February with a very glamorouse gourmet food and wine evening at the University of Johannesburg.  Our brand ambassador Tracey was in attendence to host this event.  The menu was innovative and the Morgenhof wines were paired exceptionally well with the creative food on offer.  It was such a successful event and many a guest left with a couple of bottles of the Morgenhof Estate wine.

Tracey once again presented our Fantail wines at a ladies luncheon.  The wines, low in alcohol and fruit driven with flamboyant and artistic packaging the Fantail wines proved very popular with the ladies.  Another successful and sold out event.

On Wednesday we hosted hour Mauritian importer with 3 of our top clients, all five star properties in Mauritius.  They were taken on an adventurous 4 x 4 exploration of our vineyards and even helped the professional pickers bring in some of the Merlot grapes!  They returned for a much needed glass of wine and a hearty lunch under the oaks, followed by a tasting in the cellar of our fermenting juices.  What an exciting day!

Being part of the Woordfees celebrations, Morgenhof hosted well known Actor and Musician Richard van der Westhuizen in Thursday evening.  He is know for his parts in 7de Laan, Ballade vir 'n Enkeling and Plek van die Vleisvreters.  He and his guests were treated to a tasting of the Morgenhof Estate wines, accompanied by a selections of local cheeses.  Sitting on the Morgenhof tasting room veranda, in the French rose garden sipping on the Morgenhof Vintage Port was a fitting end to a wonderful day in the winelands.

To end the week Morgenhof is taking part in the Simonsberg Market Day at Delvera.  There will be a selection of excellent wines from twenty different Simonsberg producers on offer.  There will also be many other fun activities on offer.  A fun-filled family day out!
