William Wilkinson

I have been working at Wildekrans since the end of 2002. I have done one harvest in Gigondas in the south of France. We have three beautiful pit bulls but they dont really like hanging around the people on the farm. Attitude problems I suppose. I was born whilst my parents were living on a wine farm in Wellington and moved to Hermanus in 1991 where my father was employed as the vineyard and farm manager of Hamilton Russell vineyards.

I was born whilst my parents were living on a wine farm in Wellington and moved to Hermanus in 1991 where my father was employed as the vineyard and farm manager of Hamilton Russell vineyards. I have always had a great passion for wine production and soon developed a passion for the challenges around this hahaha. I believe that wine farming was and still is one of RSA reason for its success. Well at least in the western province, but wines are doing very good in other provinces too so yeah the wine life is great.

One of the greatest rewards is to watch your wines proceed in the production and evolve itself in the cellar, it's a sense of godliness to be able to create such beauty from a source completely opposite of the outcome. Always have faith in what you believe in and trust and never stop believing after all you will always find yourself in the center of the universe.
