Jacques de Villiers


Jacques is an enthusiastic, innovative hotelier who is passionate about the industry and always looking at ways to improve the guest experience.
After being enchanted by the wizardry of cocktail and flair bartending, he could not wait to exchange his school books for jiggers and muddlers, jumping straight into starting his career at Café del Sol in The Strand, after finishing matric in 2014.
Jacques is also an avid dancer, travelling to Portugal in 2014 to compete in the Dance World Cup, placing 9th overall.
When he is not working on new, inventive recipes and creations, Jacques enjoys spending time with his dog and his three cats.
In January 2017, he entered his first competition - the International World Class Cocktail Competition - and succeeded in passing through the qualifying rounds, showcasing his technique and creativity.
Jacques is still very new to the hospitality industry, striving to acquire any-and-all knowledge, building an experience base for the future.
Participating in the Inter Hotel challenge this year is a great opportunity for him to build new relationships, gain more exposure to the world of wine and further his experiences in our exciting and dynamic industry.
