The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) offers the only internationally-recognised wine courses in SA. WSET courses are the first choice not only for anyone looking to build a career in wine or hospitality, but are also perfect for all enthusiastic wine-lovers wanting to increase their knowledge through the world’s foremost wine education body.

Level 2 is our most popular course, suitable for professionals within the wine industry as well as enthusiastic wine-lovers who simply want to find out more about their favourite local and international wines.

The course lasts for two full and busy days during which the students will learn about the world’s great grape varieties, how they behave in different countries and regions, how sparkling, sweet and fortified wines are made as well as spirits and liqueurs. Tasting at least 40 wines and spirits, most of them international, will give students a thorough grounding in the Systematic Approach to Tasting© a system used in most major international competitions.

Because there are no internationally recognised sommelier qualifications available in SA, this course is the most popular one with people working in restaurants as a sommelier and provides an excellent grounding for people wanting to continue their education with the Court of Master Sommeliers and other internationally-recognised sommelier qualifications.

All tuition, all course materials, exam fees, food and wine pairings, tasting of over 40 international and local wines & spirits and a certificate with lapel pin when you pass are included.
