Golfers can look forward to a great day of golf and
wine tasting against the spectacular backdrop of the majestic Stellenbosch
mountain ranges, with all proceeds going to the Stellenbosch Wine Festival
Foundation. Each year the festival’s
official charity raises funds for tertiary education bursaries for worthy local
students.
The challenge will be played as a four-ball Alliance,
with the top two scores counting, and the field being limited to 120 players. Tee-off
and registration starts at 06h30; and several wine estates will present
tastings at various holes during the day.
Loads of fabulous prizes will be up for grabs at the prize-giving
ceremony and a charity auction will raise further funds for the foundation.
The Momentum Grape Golf Challenge forms part of the
exciting festival line-up, which includes a harvest parade and street fest, an
open-air gala dinner, speciality tastings and tours, cultivar showcases, “dine-in-the-vine-experiences”
and art exhibitions. The festival offers an innovative, family friendly format and
will be hosted at the Coetzenburg grounds for the first time. Also on offer is
a gourmet lane featuring some of the area’s top restaurants, wine tastings from
approximately 100 farms, a special tasting room with speciality food-and-wine
pairings, sunset concerts as well as the chance to stomp grapes. Dedicated kiddies’ entertainment at the Momentum
Health Kiddies Area will ensure that toddlers to tweens will have loads of supervised fun.
Bookings are now open at R5 000 per four-ball. To book your four-ball, e-mail karen@worldsport.co.za or broadreachevents@telkomsa.net
