The popular annual Laborie Christmas Carols Showcase promises to be a magical night for the whole family. Pack your picnic blankets and head off to Laborie, the exquisite Paarl based vineyard, for a fabulous night of live entertainment, delicious food and wine, it promises to be a great way to kick off the festive season.
Pack your picnic blankets and head off to Laborie in Paarl on Friday, 4th December, for a fabulous Christmas Carols Showcase. With delicious food and wine and live entertainment for the whole family, it promises to be a great way to kick off the festive season.

Theatre director, actor and writer Norman McFarlane, is choreographing and directing this year’s event, which promises to be a very special evening with two great choirs – the Winelands Chamber Choir and La Rochelle High School Choir, who will sing Christmas carols.

Dave Rawlings will play background music and live band, Slow Jack will keep visitors entertained while Father Christmas will be on hand to entertain the little ones and spoil them with sweets.

“We are putting a big focus on kiddies this year,” says Tania Joubert, global brand manager for Laborie. “A golden circle will be set up in front of the Manor House for the kids, and there will be face painters, and a balloon artist. There will also be a mini petting zoo with cupid the goat, silky chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs.”

There will be food stalls with delicious bites from Laborie’s Harvest Restaurant, including boerewors rolls, and pancakes for those with the sweeter tooth, as well as coffee and soft drinks.

Bar di Bar, the farm’s new craft brewery inspired retro themed bar, will be open, offering a quirky 1970’s feel and the best craft beers in town.

Entry tickets cost R80 for adults and R50 for children (7 to 18 years of age) and R15 for children (2 to 6 years). Sales of kiddies tickets will go to supporting the Paarl Post Christmas fund. Ticket-holders will each receive a glow stick and a song sheet on arrival.

Only 57km from Cape Town, Laborie produces some of the best Methode Cap Classique sparkling wines, an array of award-winning wines, an estate brandy and a delicious fortified Pinotage dessert wine.

Laborie will also be running some great wine specials for the occasion, including a Laborie mixed box at R299, Laborie MCC at R70 per bottle, Lazy Days Rose and Chenin at R30 per bottle and Lazy Days Shiraz at R40 per bottle.
