With grape harvest season fast approaching, Durbanville Hills is gearing up for its ever-popular harvest tours, which will be taking place every Wednesday from 22 February to 22 March 2017.

During this peak period, South African vineyards are in full production with truckloads of grapes arriving at the cellars almost simultaneously, resulting in a contagious buzz of activity that is sure to pique the curiosity of any wine lover.

Durbanville Hills Wine Ambassador, Simone Brown, says that the exciting harvest experience is so much more than just a guided tour. “The harvest cellar tour package offers guests a unique, first-hand experience of the busiest time of year for the vineyard, complete with the sweet smell of fermenting juice. Guests will be treated to a full sensory experience, getting to not only see but feel, smell and taste wines at various stages of the winemaking process. Also included in the package is a tutored tasting of the cellar’s premier Rhinofields range. Following the tour, each couple dining in the restaurant will receive a complimentary bottle of Sparkling Sauvignon and a treat.

There will be two tours offered each day – the first at 15h00 and the second at 18h00 - both of which cost R120 per person. Guests can either join the restaurant for lunch before the 15h00 tour or for dinner after the 18:00 tour and should book on the Monday preceding the Wednesday of the tour.
