There’s more than a chill in the air – but that you already know, don’t you? Winter’s charm is evident in the bare vineyards, the beautiful farm, its people and creatures. Nature is still abundant and braving the cold, and so are Blaauwklippen Vineyards and the Blaauwklippen Family Market – only slightly chilled but not losing speed at all.

Sunday 2 July
ANTIQUE FAIR

Come make some new memories under the old wild fig tree in the company of Ricky Nass. This musician never fails to delight guests at the Blaauwklippen Family Market with his enthusiasm and bluesy renditions of popular 80s and 90s hits. It’s also the day to join the Antique Dealers and avid collectors for the monthly Antique Fair, with many collectables and bits of bling to charm you. In the food plaza, we are happy to announce some new traders! Look for the quaint little tuck-tuck and friendly Italian who makes the most delicious pizzas. We also have a Hungry Bear who, believe it or not, makes potjiekos!

Sunday 9 July
GUY’S BACK!
Guy’s back! There’s no stopping this man. He just sings and sings and entertains, performing all the popular hits of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, as well as the latest hits and melodies from the past 10 years.

Since the novelty of the first weeks of the winter holiday may have worn off by now, the market is the ideal place to bring the children to let off a little steam. We have ample lawns where they can run around; ponies to ride, zorb balls to take a tumble in or they can spread their wings on the bungee ropes.

Sunday 16 July
DOGGY WALK
Doggy Walk time! Find your pooch, put the leash on and come to Blaauwklippen Family Market. Enjoy the fresh air and make the furry one’s day with an exciting walk amongst the vineyards while you are supporting the Helderberg AWS with your donation of R20. The walk starts at 10:00.

If the whiff of spices in the air makes your mouth water, you are in the right place. Look for Piroschka’s for some gluhwein and visit Sunny’s for some delicious German sausages or Wolfgang for tasty German fare like pulled pork.

Lize Mynhardt will be back to entertain you with her soothing voice. She performs a wide selection of songs and always creates a lively atmosphere at the market.

Sunday 23 July
THE BEARDED MAN
The Bearded Man, Newton to most of us, who has become a market favourite, will be entertaining guests with his enthusiastic rendition of popular songs. On this day, you might feel like trying some veggie or vegan wraps by Jason and his mom, Sharon. These two can turn a delicious wrap, into a work of art – colourful and delicious. You will also find some delicious Blaauwklippen wine to taste; delicious fresh fruit juices and cocktails of every kind.

In the Old Wine Centre, we have a wide selection of goodies. Olives, fish and salads, sweet treats and biltong, some delicious tea and sauces. The variety of goods will certainly please you.

Sunday 30 July
SWEET TREATS AND CLASSIC ACOUSTICS
At Blaauwklippen Family Market you are really spoilt for the selection. Sweet treats to treat yourself and your loved ones, from pancakes with milk tart, Nutella or banana and homemade caramel fillings to some artisanal ice cream and delicious cakes and cupcakes from Cilla.

Visit the stall with stones, fossils and all things really, really very old or find some delicate Japanese instruments, paper and pens or toys for the little ones.

While you sit down to enjoy something special from the food stalls, you can enjoy the music provided by G-man and Ginger. These guys provide sublime renditions of classics in their acoustic, sometimes blues, sometimes country and even reggae style.
