Wine lovers with a soft spot for Shiraz will be pleased to hear that Shiraz SA is back with their 6th annual Shiraz Showcase in August, sponsored by Berthomieu. This extremely popular event will be presented on Friday 1st August, for the fourth year running, at the Vineyard Hotel in Claremont from 18h00 - 21h00.
This is a marketing event where producers can display their very best examples from this grape variety and where consumers can taste and glean information from the wide selection of styles on show.The first Shiraz Showcase was held in 2009 at the Cape Town Convention Centre. It has become an annual event and an excellent opportunity to sample some of the best examples of wines produced from this cultivar.In 2011 the Vineyard Hotel has come on board as a part sponsor. The event has since been moved to their popular and stylish conference facility in Newlands with delectable snacks that compliment Shiraz being served.Tickets for this event can be bought via Webtickets or at the door at R120 per person.
