Join David Trafford and his team this December with our extended opening hours. We will be open on Friday 19, Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 10am - 3pm. As the whole team will be there we would like to take this opportunity to show you around the vineyards and through the cellar. We are open every Saturday 10am - 3pm all other weekends.

We welcome guests to our off-the-beaten track, newly built Sijnn Winery. The cellar, built of local stone overlooks the river, vineyards and natural Renosterveld Kloof. Sijnn (pronounced Say-n) is situated near the mouth of the Breede River, close to the hamlet of Malgas, now an official viticultural ward.

We are open every Saturday from 10am to 3pm for wine tastings and sales, and are extending our hours on the weekend of the 19th, 20th and 21st of December. The whole team will be there including David and Rita Trafford, Christine Andrews, our new assistant winemaker Charla Haasbroek, Harry and Elizabeth.

We offer platters at R150 for two people which includes cheese from local farms, freshly made bread from the local trading post, cured meat from Robertson and olives grown at Sijnn Winery.

You are welcome to join us for a cellar tour and vineyard walk on the weekend of 19 - 21 December where you can see our incredibly low yielding bush vines and our interesting stony soils that give our wines great character. Mostly rolled “pudding” stones over Bokkeveld shale with outcrops of limestone and quartzitic material in places. The ocean is only 15km away, on the other side of the Potberg mountain. The cool breezes moderate our climate. These natural, handcrafted wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts, barrel matured and bottled unfiltered.
