Celebrating naturally grown and local produce in a vibrant farm environment...

Celebrate natural produce and artisan food, share in the passion of natural food farmers, winemakers and farm to table chefs and sample local, seasonal, ethically-sourced ingredients at the Boschendal Farm to Table Festival on the weekend of 23 and 24 April 2016. A choice of fresh naturally produced ingredients will be for sale at food stalls on the farm.

Saturday Farm Feast Dinner - 23 April 2016
On Saturday, the open air Farm Feast Dinner will commence with wines and drinks being served at a long communal table with a festive, harvest style atmosphere from 16h00. Enjoy dishes with seasonal farm produce, wine - including new Boschendal releases and entertainment. The food will be prepared on open fires by the Boschendal chefs with the centre piece being a naturally raised, pasture fed Angus ox that will be put on a spit and slowly roasted over a bed of coals throughout the day.

The Boschendal farm fundi’s and friends of the farm who participated in the informative festival sessions will join the evening, making this a great opportunity to chat. A separate kids table will be set up adjacent to the shared long table. In the event of rain, the feast will be moved into the new Boschendal event barn.

Sunday Family Fun BBQ Picnic - 24 April 2016
On Sunday, enjoy a farm BBQ picnic, live music and fun family activities on the Boschendal lawns. Collect your gourmet picnic hamper from 12h00 to 15h00, made with fresh local produce from Boschendal or from our local suppliers and settle in for a great Sunday afternoon. Fun-filled kids activities include a farm adventure including an informative food garden, cow and chicken tour and making own pizzas using ingredients collected on the tour. During this time, parents can join a workshop or listen to a talk while all 5 - 12 year old children enjoy tractor rides, pony rides, straw castles and water slides under supervision of farm hosts.

The Farm to Table hamper includes patés, breads, spreads, cold meat, salads, dressings, cheeses and dessert. Our chefs will be preparing meat and veg cooked on open fires for picnic-goers to enjoy with the contents of the picnic hamper. Activities for kids include pony rides, farm games, a puppet show, face painting, tractor rides, and slack lining. Boschendal wines will be available at cellar door prices with the craft beer selection and artisan gin bar providing additional temptation. Book your picnic hamper in advance, then choose your spot, relax and enjoy the natural farm surroundings.
