On 9 April, from 2 to 5pm, wine connoisseurs and enthusiasts will discover top South African Pinot Noirs at the Vineyard Hotel’s ever popular Pinot Noir Festival.

Forming part of the Vineyard Hotel’s famous Tastes calendar, an eight-month celebration of wine-paired dinners, the festival sees some of the best South African Pinot Noir producers take to the Vineyard Hotel’s famous lawns to celebrate the virtues of this sought after grape.

This classic Burgundian grape, said to produce “the best red wine in the world” with hints of cranberry, cherry and raspberry, vanilla, tobacco and caramel, is a particularly difficult varietal to cultivate.

“We have an exciting selection of South African Pinot Noirs for our guests to explore,” says Roy Davies, the hotel’s General Manager. “We are extremely fortunate to be able to showcase wines from estates such as Meerlust, Newton Johnson, Hamilton Russell, Glen Carlou, Waterford Estate, Paul Cluver and the other top producers for our guests to taste. Our recent Festival of Bubbles was a great success, and the Pinot Festival is sure to be just as festive.”

The cost to attend is R250 per person and guests are encouraged to book early. To book for the Pinot Festival please call 021 657 4500.
