Berets in hand. Check. Red, white and blue outfit planned to perfection. Check. French flair. Check. Now you’re ready to celebrate this year’s DStv Franschhoek Bastille Festival, 15th and 16th July, in style!

DStv is proud to be a partner of this year’s Franschhoek Bastille Festival, now in its 24th year.  The festival, a multisensory experience, will take you on a journey of all things French including a mountain bike race, a food and wine extravaganza and so much more.

This year’s festival will be bigger and better with the addition of a hospitality package inspired by Joie de Vivre, “the joy of living”; from 13 to 16 July which offers guests the opportunity to extend their DStv Franschhoek Bastille Festival experience.  The package is suited for those with an adventurous spirit and includes participation in a variety of mountain biking activities over three days including the Contre La Montre, a race against the in the clock in the glorious Franschhoek mountains, with difficulty levels to suit all mountain bikers.  Also included is accommodation, access to exclusive functions and meals as per the package, as well as day activities to enjoy some of the finest food and wine experiences available in Franschhoek.

The Food & Wine Marquee, open 15 to16 July, is set against the backdrop of the historic Huguenot Monument offering exquisite views of the mountain. Ample parking on the grounds allow for comfortable walking distance to and from town. Sample the superb Franschhoek wines on offer or treat your taste buds to the selection of delicious gourmet fare available to purchase from some of Franschhoek’s well-known eateries.

Add the quirky caricature artist who captures your Bastille experience, the popular Porcupine Ridge Barrel Rolling Competition and a dedicated children’s area, and you have all the ingredients for a fun filled festival.

Tickets to the Food & Wine Marquee cost R280 person and include entry, a complimentary tasting glass and a booklet of five wine tasting coupons. Additional coupons can be purchased on the day.

Adding that extra pizzazz, Franschhoek, fondly known as “the village”, will be a hive of festival activities and kitted out in its finest French flair, as you take in the sights and sounds of all that’s on offer.
