Gourmet Evening with Nederburg at Burrata

Intro :  Gourmet wines deserve gourmet food but that doesn’t have to mean formal or fancy. So how about beautifully made, special wines with beautifully made, special pizzas?
 
Cost : R220 per person

Description : Neil Grant, one of South Africa’s leading exponents of exceptional pizza, has come up with a brilliant idea to showcase four gorgeous wines from the just-released Heritage Heroes collection.

For one night only on Monday, October 15, at his restaurant, Burrata at Cape Town’s Old Biscuit Mill, he is offering foodies in Cape Town a bounty of delicious flavours to match these wines. For starters he’ll have a selection of artisanal cured meats and cheeses served with Nederburg Cuvée Brut.

Then it’s on to Neil’s spectacular pizzas! He’ll have a generous slice of pizza topped with burrata (similar to mozzarella but richer, creamier and yummier) and another that features truffle oil. These will be served with The Anchorman, a rich and lively Chenin Blanc, and The Young Airhawk, a very different and interesting Sauvignon Blanc. (You'll also get to hear how the wines got their unusual names from the winemakers involved). The idea will be for you to mix and match and see which of these two whites you like best with each slice.

Next up will be a slice of pizza with prosciutto and arugula (rocket) and another featuring chorizo. These will be paired with a Bordeaux-style red called The Brew Master and a Mediterranean-style red called The Motorcycle Marvel. (The promise extends to explain how these wines got their names, by the way). Once again, you get to decide which pairings work best for you.

There will be coffee and a small sweet treat too. All for just R220 per person.
