Our Wines
Fleur du Cap Unfiltered Range
Cut deep into the slopes of the Papegaaiberg, on the outskirts of the historic town of Stellenbosch, lies a famous landmark in the winelands. This is Die Bergkelder. Founded in 1967, this 'famous cellar in the mountain' was the first of its kind in South Africa and is home to some of the Cape's finest wines.
Die Bergkelder has distinguished itself as an important innovator in the wine industry. In the 1970s, it played a pivotal role in encouraging South Africa's production of world-class wines by persuading grape-growers to introduce the classic noble varietals to their vineyards such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. In 1979, The Bergkelder took the lead by introducing maturation of quality wine in small casks of new French oak and in 1998 the unique range of Fleur du Cap Unfiltered wines was launched. Made with minimal human interference allowing the full expression of the grapes, these are elegant wines of great complexity with abundant fruit and flavour showing their true varietal character.

Fluer du Cap Laszlo
This special release signature blend is a fitting tribute to Dr Julius Laszlo, the innovative, visionary Cellar master at The Bergkelder who catapulted South African winemaking into the international league in the 1980s.
