SA Young Wine Show 2012 Winners
The Bloemhof hall was abuzz with winemakers chatting and congratulating each other for their awards won at the lunch today. Frans Smit and his team from Spier won the Pietman Hugo Trophy and Nicolaas Rust and his team at uniWines won the General Smuts Trophy

Wine.co.za's Spotlight on Badsberg winery in the Breedekloof for - Feb 2012
Wine.co.za puts its Spotlight on BO DIE BERG (Above the mountain) for Feb 2012. Judy Brower & Carla vd Merwe visited Badsberg in Rawsonville and interviewed Henri Swiegers about their Badsberg Badslese which did exceptionally well at the 2012 Platter awards.

Platter 2012 launch at Vineyard Hotel
The sunshine yellow Platter guide was launched on 8th Nov at the Vineyard Hotel, with Boekenhoutskloof being Winery of the year as well as winning the SuperQuaffer award for their Wolftrap White 2010. Cape Chamonix Reserve 2010 (Pinot Noir) won Red Wine of the year, and Badsberg Badslese 2009 (Natural Sweet) won White wine of the year.

Breedekloof Food and Wine Event
Opstal Wine Estate hosted the Breedekloof Wine and Food Pairing on the 2nd of September. A semi-formal event with the likes of Chef, Neil Anthony, and three Cape Wine Masters, Duimpie Bayly, Winnie Bowman and Ginette de Fleuriot.
