Platter 2013 Awards at Vineyard Hotel
The annual 2013 Platter awards were held at the Vineyard hotel on 30th Oct 2012, with the Winery of the year going to Cape Chamonix, Superquaffer of the Year to Muratie for their Muratie Melck's Shiraz-Cab, White Wine to Paul Cluver for their Nobel Late Harvest 2011 and Red Wine to Mullineux Family Syrah 2010. Congrats to them and all the 5 Star winners..

Christian Eedes Chardonnay Report 2012
South Africa's leading Chardonnays were revealed at the 2012 Christian Eedes Chardonnay Report on 3 October at an intimate gathering at French Toast restaurant, Cape Town. Produced by emerging wine commentator Christian Eedes in partnership with Sanlam Private Investments (SPI), the report celebrates world-class South African wines and the awards ceremony for the top 10 Chardonnays is fast becoming a wine lovers' favourite. The top 10 Chardonnay winners: Hannes Storm for Hamilton Russell Vineyards 2011, Joris van Almenkerk for Almenkerk 2011, Johan Kruger for Sterhuis Barrel Selection 2011, Patrick Ngamane for Hartenberg, Jacques de Klerk for Radford Dale 2011 and Johann Fourie for KWV The Mentors 2011; Matthew van Heerden for Uva Mira Single Vineyard 2011, Sharon Patterson for Sumaridge 2010, Kathy Jordan for Jordan Barrel Fermented 2011 and Dumsani for Tokara Reserve Collection Walker Bay 2011

Veritas 2012 Awards Dinner at CTICC - 6 Oct 2012
The CTICC was abuzz again last night with the South African Wine industry during the annual glittering Veritas Awards dinner. Over 1744 wines were entered, with only 58 achieving Double Gold. Old faithfuls KWV(7 Double Golds, 7 Golds), Nederburg(4DG 12G), Jordan (3DG), Simonsig(2DG 7G), Boplaas(2DG,3G), Cederberg(2DG,2G), Windmeul(2DG,2G), Guardian Peak(2DG,1G) Perdeberg(1DG,2G), Graham Beck(1DG,1G), Kleine Zalze(1DG,1G) and Rooiberg, Villiera(1DG, 1G) were some of the top achievers, with a few newer names in there too - Marianne(1 DG, 3 G) & Nabygelegen(1 DG). Hat's off to the winners, judges, organisers and catering staff - wonderful evening.

Platter 2012 launch at Vineyard Hotel
The sunshine yellow Platter guide was launched on 8th Nov at the Vineyard Hotel, with Boekenhoutskloof being Winery of the year as well as winning the SuperQuaffer award for their Wolftrap White 2010. Cape Chamonix Reserve 2010 (Pinot Noir) won Red Wine of the year, and Badsberg Badslese 2009 (Natural Sweet) won White wine of the year.

High Timber Restaurant
High Timber is a restaurant and wine cellar built on the foundations of a 20 year friendship. The only restaurant in the City of London with tables on the banks of the Thames, it is situated 100 yards from the north side of the Millennium Bridge, a brief walk from St Paul's Cathedral and the London Stock Exchange. It has some of the best views of any restaurant in the UK.

Jordan Restaurant with Georgie Jardine
Jordan Restaurant is open for a la carte lunch from Tuesday to Sunday from 12h00 till 15h00, and a six course set menu on Thursday and Friday nights from 18h30. Menu's at Jordan Restaurant change daily, but the format for lunch and dinner remain the same throughout the year.
