Badsberg Wine Cellar is situated at the foot of the Badsberg Mountain in the picturesque Rawsonville, a mere 80km from Cape Town and 20km from Worcester.

Badsberg's dedicated team of wine makers, cellar members and viticulturists have been committed in creating quality wines since 1951. This dedication, coupled with a state of the art cellar have equipped Badsberg cellar master, Willie Burger and his team to produce a variety of national and international award winning wines.

"The art in making a good muscadel, lies in a perfect timing of harvesting. Perfect ripeness, preservation of the muscat flavour and sweetness ensure a superb muscadel," Burger explains.

Fortified fest

At the recent 2012 Muskadel SA Awards, 22 muscats were evaluated blindly. Judges were especially impressed with Badsberg Red Muscadel 2011 and awarded the fortified beauty with a gold medal.

This 100% muscat d'Frontignan with its rich, brick red colour and nose and palate of full ripe raisins, dazzles with a lingering aftertaste.

Winning streak

Since 2005, Badsberg Red Muscadel has declared a winning streak, winning awards in several well-known wine competitions.

The 2005 and 2006 harvests have won gold and double gold awards at the Michaelangelo and Veritas awards, as well as Muskadel SA, while 2008 and 2010 respectively won gold and silver at the Michaelangelo and Veritas awards.

Wine Tastings

Come enjoy Badsberg Wine Cellar's warm, hearty Boland hospitality. Visitors are invited to their tasting room to enjoy a wide range of award winning white, red and sparkling wines, as well as their heavenly fortified wines.

Saturday: 10h00 to 13h00
Closed on Sundays, public holidays and Easter weekend.
