This oak-matured Viognier is a voluptuous wine with lovely nutty and light buttery flavours well balanced by a floral perfume on the nose. The style is rich and ripe and well-structured to result in an elegant wine, ideally suited to complement suave dinners.
Well-chilled to make any occasion festive. Enjoy with exotic, fragrant dishes. This is a style of white wine that will age beautifully and is the perfect partner to pork, duck, curries and bowls of creamy risotto.
Harvested from an exceptional vineyard in the heart of the Swartland, the Kasteelberg Pinotage is characterised as a well-structured wine, offering layers of flavours and aromas. Seductive rich plum flavours with notes of captivating dark chocolate follows through in a smooth and lingering palate of intense flavours integrated with the freshness of ripe red cherries.
At room temperature. Compliments curries and red meat, especially game.
Made from a blend of various vineyards to capture the best characteristics of each, the Riebeek Sauvignon Blanc is an easy-drinking and accessible white wine for everyday enjoyment. Well-balanced with zesty acids, every glassful is fresh and crisp and perfect for warm summer days.
Enjoy well-chilled. Very refreshing on its own and lovely with crisp salads, light seafood dishes and tapas. Try with steamed green asparagus and aioli for a lovely alternative.
This unwooded Chardonnay is an accessible wine with the body of the Chardonnay grape but without the oak and buttery flavours often associated with this cultivar. The colour is a brilliant green-gold and the style is dry yet fruity. The nose has pronounced tropical flavours following through onto a pallet with a well-rounded, lingering citrus finish.
Slightly chilled. Lovely with most starter dishes. Well paired with chicken and fish, whether served grilled or in a creamy sauce.
Riebeek Pinotage Rosé offers this exclusive South African cultivar in a dryer, but fresh and fruity style. An elegant Rosé bursting with flavours of fresh strawberries and ripe cherries, but without the cloying sweetness of an average Rosé.
Enjoy well-chilled with lighter meals like pasta, salmon and salads or as a glass on its own with good friends.
An exciting new world style wine with upfront blackcurrant flavours. The black fruit is well-balanced with subtle French oak for a complex nose and an elegant and lingering follow-through. An exceptional example of a lighter style Cabernet Sauvignon that can be enjoyed while still young.
Served at room temperature, this Cabernet Sauvignon pairs perfectly with red meat dishes, especially classic recipes like roasted leg of lam, grilled lamb chops and beef kebabs. While ready to drink, it would benefit from another year in the bottle.
The colour is an attractive bright ruby red with a purple rim, typical of a young Pinotage. The flavours of this unique South African cultivar are complex and exciting with ripe plum and fruitcake all beautifully integrated and then finished with subtle oak to for a lingering aftertaste.
Serve at room temperature. Lovely with rare beef, barbequed lamb and casseroles. This versatile lighter style of Pinotage is also a lovely combination with spicy chicken.
One of the most popular wines in the Riebeek range, the Merlot offers an array of red berries and a soft and mellow pallet. The style is elegant with well-integrated fruit and oak flavours on the nose. The palate is velvety and smooth with an aftertaste that lingers with the juicy flavours of abundant berries.
Serve at room temperature. This mellow and fruity Merlot can easily be enjoyed on its own, but is also very versatile when it comes to the table. A perfect partner with lighter red meat dishes, spaghetti bolognaise and chicken, the Merlot is also the ideal if you prefer red wine with your vegetarian meal and pasta.
Often referred to as Shiraz Country, the Riebeek Valley is renowned for exceptional Shiraz wines. The Riebeek Shiraz is a lively rich wine, full bodied with a subdued smokiness on the nose and a pallet of ripe fruit and interesting spice. Well-balanced and smooth, the aftertaste lingers with the exciting flavours of Christmas pudding.
Serve at room temperature. The perfect companion to barbequed lamb, fillet medallions and game. Lovely with Springbok stuffed with bacon, garlic and rosemary and a great match to a cheese and preserve platter.
Short Street CGV is fresh dry white wine with the clean uncomplicated structure and well-defined fruity flavours associated with wines produced from the old bush vines of which the last remaining examples are primarily located in the Swartland. A slight hint of perfume from the Viognier integrates perfectly with well-balanced natural acidity for a refreshing, mouth-watering finish.
Serve well-chilled (8 to 10°C), the wine is exceptionally food-friendly, enhancing enjoyment without masking food character.
Short Street SGM is full-bodied red wine, well balanced with pronounced red berry flavours and a hint of spice, complemented by subtle oak nuances. The velvety tannin structure is typical of expressive Swartland wines and has been coaxed to perfection by our gifted team of wine makers.
