The maiden vintage, 2010, of the Honeybunch Single Vineyard Reserve Chenin Blanc was awarded an impressive 91 point score.
The Remhoogte Chenin Blanc 2010 was awarded 90 points, not far off the Reserve Honeybunch!
"It's great to have both our Chenin's rated in the 90's. Both are made in very different styles. The Honeybunch is heavier and oaked and the standard Chenin is fresh and unoaked. It is great to see each style being scored so highly. Both wines are a function of top quality fruit from block number 6, a 25 year old registered single vineyard on Remhoogte Wine Estate. The Honeybunch is produced exclusively from this vineyard and the majority of the Remhoogte Chenin is from this vineyard as well." Chris Boustred - Winemaker
The 2010 vintage of both wines is unfortunately already sold out. However the 2011 vintage of both is now available, and according to Chris the 2011 vintage is definitely a step above the 2010.
