FNB Private Clients announces sponsorship of regional wine shows
17 July 2012  by FNB Private Clients
FNB Private Clients has affirmed its commitment to the wine enthusiasts of Limpopo, Mpumalanga and the Free State, as well as to the country's wine producers, by assuming the role of headline sponsor for a series of regional wine shows.
While some of the events already enjoy an established track record, and are regarded as the most important consumer wine events in the province, FNB's involvement will also serve to extend the reach of the show's programme, bringing the best of the South African wine industry to an ever greater audience.

The show’s programme has been developed and directed over the past five years by wine authority Michael Fridjhon. Beginning in Limpopo, and then extending to Mpumalanga, it brings a superb selection of wines from many of the Cape's leading wine producers to the country's regional capitals.

Basani Maluleke, head of FNB Private Clients, is delighted at being associated with wine events of this calibre. "As a bank, we have had a long and mutually beneficial relationship with the country's wine producers. Many of our clients regard wine as a lifestyle and leisure choice. We are particularly pleased to be part of an established and highly credible series of events where wine lovers are afforded the opportunity to taste the best South African wines on offer. This partnership aligns itself with our strategic focus on investment in our rural hubs and we are therefore, also pleased that we will be able to assist the industry in expanding its foot print in provinces like the Free State."

In the tradition established in earlier editions of the two shows, wine lovers can expect to enjoy the top wines from many of the Cape's best known estates, and to discover the little known gems produced in quantities too small to ensure wide distribution.

The details of the regional wine shows are as follows:
