Winemakers' Choice Awards: "A true reflection of wine perfection"

Since 2005 the Winemakers' Choice Awards have been helping wine consumers make more informed decisions when choosing their next bottle of wine.
For this reason the wine industry and consumers alike look forward to the annual judging event which offers wineries the chance to pit their top wines against those of their peers in order to be rated on their overall quality and elegance.

Each year a selection of winemakers are chosen to assist in judging the wines entered. This year the judging process will take place at Bilton Wines and will follow the usual rigorous planning and execution in order to provide the most suitable environment for the rating of the wines. This includes the wines being tasted blind. The winners in each category receive not only the honour of the prestigious Diamond Award, but also the opportunity of having their wines adorned with the Diamond Award sticker which gives the wine consumer a good reference as to what wines have stood out for their quality amongst their peers.

The 2012 award ceremony will be taking place on Wednesday, 17 October 2012 at MolenVliet Wine and Guest Estate. The results are released at the ceremony, and thereafter can be found on the website, www.winemakerschoice.co.za.

In previous years the likes of Windmeul, Raka, Groote Post and Spier, to name but a few, have stood out for their quality wine production. This year will be no different; meaning the search for excellence will be the aim of the judging event. Till then, keep your eyes peeled for the impressive Diamond Award which adorns winners’ wines on shelves in and around South African outlets. Let’s support them, and the rest, as we enjoy some of the world’s top wines produced on our doorstep.
