Well-known foodie and blogger, Ilse van der Merwe (aka The Food Fox) will be putting her culinary skills to the test at her unique multi-faceted food studio as she creates a meal suited to this beautiful varietal.

Sample some of the finest Pinotage wines Lanzerac has to offer, which includes a handful of rare vintage ones which Wynand has carefully selected from his Vinoteque for the evening. The perfect opportunity to perfect your Pinotage knowledge as well as get an opportunity to interact with Wynand.

Pinotage is a variety unique to South Africa, which was developed by Professor Perold in 1925 when he crossed Pinot Noir with Cinsaut/Hermitage. Lanzerac was the first wine estate in the world to bottle this variety, a 1959 vintage, which was released in 1961. The Pionier Pinotage pays tribute to Professor Perold, and forms part of Lanzerac’s Heritage range.

This unique and intimate four-course dinner and Pinotage pairing will be guaranteed to delight food and wine lovers alike. Seats are limited to 14 guests only, adding to the exclusivity of the evening, so booking is essential. The cost is R400 per person which includes four Lanzerac Wine Estate pairings, coffee and a goodie bag filled with gifts from Lanzerac and The Demo Kitchen.
