Get love-locked in a wacky way

Visitors to the Robertson Wacky Wine Weekend from 4 - 7 June can once again conveniently collect their passports en route and get into the spirit at Rooiberg Winery alongside the R60.

At the same time, romantic couples can eternalise their love bond by adding a red padlock with their names onto the “love wall” on the cellar premises with its characteristic red land art. The locks can be purchased at R30 each and the key dumped forever in a red barrel. This, in the tradition of lovers casting keys into the Seine River, Paris, after locking onto an ancient pedestrian bridge.

Festival passports, goody bags and wine glasses can be collected at the Rooiberg marquee 10 kilometres before Robertson, which will feature festive activities, as well as lucky draws for those who purchase wine worth more than R500.

Of course, there will be plenty of eats with a country flavour, including French style soup served in bowls made from hollow bread crusts. Among the wines to be enjoyed are the cheerful Red Chair range, inspired by that giant red chair that’s irresistible for selfies.
