Maintaining its unassailable leadership in the sweet wine stakes,
Nederburg won double gold for the 2009 Eminence at the Six Nations Wine
Challenge in Australia, and then the Veritas double gold for the 2005 Edelkeur
at home. Both wines are sold exclusively on the annual Nederburg Auction.
Earlier this year, the 2010 Edelkeur was awarded gold outstanding, a top
honour, at the International Wine & Spirit Competition in London.
Also in London, the widely retailed 2013 Winemaster's Reserve Noble Late
Harvest went on to win a trophy at the International Sweet Wine Challenge. In
South Africa, the wine sells for around R90.
Nederburg's second Veritas double gold went to its flagship
single-varietal red, the 2012 II Centuries Cabernet Sauvignon, made from
individually selected Paarl vines. Earlier vintages have also been acclaimed.
Eminence and Edelkeur dominated the Veritas golds. The 2012 and 2013
vintages of both were amongst the gold medallists, as were the 2013
Winemaster's Reserve Noble Late Harvest and the 2001 Private Bin S316 Weisser
Riesling Noble Late Harvest.
Nederburg's reds also ruled at Veritas to bring in a quartet of golds.
The 2013 vintage of The Brew Master, a Bordeaux-style blend that forms part of
the popular Heritage Heroes gourmet range, was one of these. It retails locally
for around R150.
All the other gold medallists were Private Bin Nederburg Auction wines.

2010 Private Bin R172 Pinotage
2012 Private Bin R121 Shiraz.
