“This Sauvignon Blanc is young, vibrant and uncomplicated. It’s for those people who enjoy their whites smooth and easy, without any ‘thrills and spills’,” says Klawer Cellars’ cellar master, Andries Blake, of their 2017 Sauvignon Blanc that has just been the released.

In the second successive year, Klawer Cellars up the West Coast has “jumped the gun” by being the first winery to introduce a wine to the South African wine loving public.

“The grapes for this wine come from the farm Aandrus in the Trawal area. It was picked on January 10 at 22.5° Balling,” explains Andries.

“This Sauvignon Blanc has ripe tropical aromas with grassy undertones in the nose, and these carry through to the palate. Enjoy it well-chilled on its own or with fish, white meat and pasta dishes.”

Andries says last year’s “early worm” Sauvignon Blanc proved to be highly popular and sold out very quickly. “We received numerous requests to repeat it this year and to produce much more.”

The Klawer Cellars Sauvignon Blanc 2017 sells for R35-00 per bottle, but it’s only available at the cellar.
