“Taste of Tygervalley” Wine Fest
Tygervalley Centre in the northern suburbs of Cape Town has the perfect solution to those mid-winter blues; A celebration of flavours and tastes which will stop your winter cocooning in its tracks.

With 20 wineries offering their wares ranging from pot-stilled brandy, fortifieds like Jerepigo, Port and Muscadel, right through to some serious Reds and full-bodied Whites,  the event will suit every palate and wallet,  as most of the tasting items are also for sale to take home.

Participating wineries include: Blaauwklippen Wines, Benguela Cove, Bonnievale Wines, Diemersfontein, Eagles Cliff Wines, Edgebaston, Groenland, Hermanuspietersfontein, Imbuku wines, Kingna Distillery, Montpellier de Tulbagh, Montagu Wine and Spirits, Mooiplaas, Ormonde Vineyards,  Perdeberg, Peter Bayley Wines, Spookfontein, Triple Three Estate Distillery, Yonder Hill and Zorgvliet.

The Cabernet Franc Interest Group will have a special tasting stand so that festival goers can find out more about this trendy varietal, Wine of the Month Club and Good Taste will share their expertise and to top it all, we’ll have chocolates as part of the pairings and tastings. Some of the specialised tastings will require a small additional fee, payable at the tasting area, especially if you want to experience rare or valuable wines or spirits.

The R100 ticket price includes most tastings, a branded crystal wine glass and a contribution towards a bursary for a local youngster to take the first step towards a career as a professional Sommelier, supported by the South African Sommeliers Association.

Tickets from www.computicket.com from 5 June, or at the door. Tickets are limited to ensure a comfortable tasting experience and easy interaction with wineries. For more information visit www.tygervalley.co.za.
