Pyrotec
To promote the wines of the Worcester region, endorsed by the Institute for the Blind, Pyrotec was briefed to produce the labels for the world’s first Braille wine bottle.
Wine Manager for Worcester Winelands, Bridget Zietkiewicz, approached Pyrotec to provide a high quality and durable printed Braille label solution to withstand the label application process and the shipment of the wines around the world.

In line with these requirements, Pyrotec created an embossed Braille section on the top half of each label denoting the cultivars of the Worcester Winelands cellars.  A PROTAG™ necktag for the neck of each wine bottle was constructed to create a visual impact in-store.

The client was delighted with the end-results.  The Braille label together with the Protag provided a pioneering campaign of equal access to product information for all wine lovers.

Pyrotec developed their double layer label with random numbering and also supplied Unilever with labeling machinery for their application requirements.
