Stellenbosch Wine Festival celebrate the best of the Winelands
14 August 2009  by GC Communications
With more than 500 wines from 150 top exhibitors and delectable gourmet treats, the 8th annual Stellenbosch Wine Festival delighted both national and international wine lovers, giving them the opportunity to taste the best of the winelands under one roof.
The festival is one of the longest running and biggest regional festivals under one roof in the Cape and despite the economic downturn, the attendance and wine sales reached new record heights.

Wine lovers enjoyed the soothing sounds of Zamar and Sima and attended a fashion show hosted in the Checkers tent. "We are extremely proud of this year's festival," said an elated Annareth Bolton, CEO of American Express Stellenbosch Wine Routes.

Next year's Stellenbosch Wine Festival is already in its planning stages and will be hosted 1 to 4 July 2010, one month earlier than usual, to coincide with the FIFA World Cup semi-final in Cape Town.
