Conducted as an exit poll by a team interviewing visitors to every WineX show since 2003, it reveals a remarkable overlap between taste appeal and producer reputation. It also defines trends in the wider consumer market and serves as a guideline to wine fashion.
At the 2010 RMB WineX in Cape Town the leading names emerging from a poll covering close to 600 responses are listed below. Once again the two key features of this result are the recognition accorded to some of the country's best known and most highly reputed cellars, as well as the ongoing popularity of the heavily-oaked Pinotage style.
The top ten wine achievers at the RMB WineX Cape Town 2010 were as follows:

The new look two-day RMB WineX Cape Town, which took place at the CTICC on the 19 and 20 August, was attended by just more than 5 400 Cape Town wine lovers. Over 500 wines from 112 exhibitors was available for tasting and purchase via the show's Shop@Show retail facility with a turnover of just more than R181 000 in wine sales. Top selling wines were the Saronsberg Shiraz 2007 by volume and the Eagles' Nest Shiraz 2008 by value.
The 11th RMB WineX Sandton takes place from 27 to 29 October at the Sandton Convention Centre.
